Wildwood Trail at Forest Park
Forest Park

About the Park

Located in the Tualatin Mountains west of downtown Portland, Forest Park is a public municipal park that stretches for more than 8 miles on hillsides overlooking the Willamette River. It’s considered to be one of the largest urban forest reserves.

Wildwood Trail is the largest trail of the 40 mile trail loop, which intersects with various parks that surround Portland. You can reach the trail through Washington Park, near the Portland Zoo. While it starts in Washington Park, it only takes up 3 miles of that park and then leads you to the remaining 27 miles that is in Forest Park. The trail boasts panoramic views of the city and the 5 Mountains Rainer, Adams, St. Helens, Hood and Jefferson.

The trail also links with 30 separate parks that offer a variety of activities, such as horse-back riding, inline skating, canoeing, hiking, bicycling as well as exploring nature and wildlife.

Great place to go if you’re into challenging, long hikes!
